I’ve lost count of how many times people have asked me how I find the time to publish content consistently.

I’m not gonna lie, it takes some hard work and a fair bit of determination. But I’m as stubborn as they come. And when I set myself a goal, I make sure I bloomin’ well achieve it.

Make marketing a priority

When you run a business, you’re not just doing the work you set out to do. You’re managing the finances, marketing your services, dealing with customer queries, and keeping everything running behind the scenes. It’s a lot to juggle.

All of those things matter, of course. But — and maybe I’m biased here — content marketing is the thing that keeps the rest of your business moving. Without it, there are no clients to buy what you offer, no invoices to send, and no customers to support.

Your marketing is what keeps you visible, your audience engaged, and your diary full. So if content keeps getting bumped to the bottom of your to-do list, it might be time to rethink your priorities.

Here are three small changes that can make a big difference to how consistent you are with your content:

  1. Stop making it harder than it needs to be

You don’t have to start from scratch every time you post. You’ve got a goldmine of valuable content, so dust it off and reuse, repurpose or reshare it. Go back through the content you’ve already created – the ideas that performed well, the tips that still ring true, the stories your audience loved. Consistency doesn’t mean constant reinvention.

  1. Treat your content time like a client meeting

If it’s in your diary, it’s non-negotiable. Protect that time and show up for it. You wouldn’t cancel on a client at the last minute, so don’t cancel on your marketing. It deserves the same respect and commitment as any other part of your business.

If you struggle to put aside time, join my accountability club where we have two dedicated co-working sessions each week to get your content marketing done.

  1. Catch your sneaky time thieves

We’re all guilty of wasting time – whether it’s doom scrolling, tidying your inbox, re-writing your to-do list or the “I’ll just…” moments. Those little pockets of time add up. And are those activities going to move your business forwards?

Finding time for consistent content isn’t about cramming more into your already full day. It’s about working smarter, being intentional, and giving your creativity the space it needs to thrive.

Be more conscious of how you’re using your time and make the best use of it. Even 20 focused minutes can make a difference.
